Art and Spirituality

  • Finding My Soul’s Voice: An Introduction to SoulCollage® with Vicki Longhofer
SoulCollage® is a contemplative approach to collaging using found images, intuition and imagination. There is
more information here. Using this method, we discover and connect with the wisdom that calls to us from our own deep well of personal history, aspirations, and dreams. $60 includes snacks and materials. Registration is open. Registration form available here. Questions? Contact Betsey Horth at  betseyhorth@gmail.com. This pilgrimage has been canceled.
  • How Art Informs our Spirituality; a Journey into Reflective Thinking
A combination of visiting the local art galleries at the Cultural Center and working with our own Holy Trinity artists. More information available soon. Questions? Contact Betsey Horth at
betseyhorth@gmail.com. This pilgrimage has been canceled.

Spring Appalachian Trail: Join us for a gentler-paced hiking pilgrimage to Cole Mountain, Virginia. We will be carrying lighter day packs instead of fully loaded backpacks with the intention of slowing down to the speed of presence, soaking in the beauty and peace of wildflowers, mountain vistas, and fellowship. To learn more about this pilgrimage and how to register, please click here. Registration opens February 1, 2024, May 17-19, 2024

Mountains to Sea Trail: three-day trip with two days of hiking. Section of trail TBD based on construction and lodging availability. Luggage ported from town to town. 3 days, September/October 2024 dates TBA. Details to follow in Spring 2024

In the Footsteps of Jesus (Israel): Walk in the footsteps of Jesus, exploring sites associated with his life and ministry. This pilgrimage will transform your reading of scripture. Our guide, Canon Iyad Qumri, is the gold standard for Anglicans and Episcopalians around the world and has been a friend of Fr. Umphlett’s since 2010. 13 days, Oct. 13-25, 2024.

Note: In light of the current situation, we know that it is difficult to imagine a pilgrimage in the Holy Land. As we pray for our Jewish, Muslim, and Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, we still need to register for next October’s pilgrimage. We are asking you to sign up as if everything were safe and the trip were able to move ahead; we are delaying the requirement for non-refundable deposits until the point at which we know the trip is going to happen. Fr. Umphlett stays in close contact with his guide friends in Jerusalem and trusts them completely.

Click here to sign up and click here to read a sample itinerary from the last time our group was there (September 2022). Please don’t hesitate to write Fr. Umphlett directly with questions: david@holy-trinity.com.

Fall Appalachian Trail: Join us for a backpacking pilgrimage along a section of the longest hiking footpath in the world where fall colors and trail magic await. Backpacking, 3-4 days, October 2024 dates TBA.
